Djiboutian colleagues shared stories of the people-to-people connectivity during their visit to Hong Kong

3 Djiboutian colleagues from East Africa, Charmarke, Awale and Sabria, visited colleagues stationed in the HK headquarters last week. Studied in China, the Djiboutian colleagues are fluent in Mandarin, English and French. During the media interviews, they shared stories of the people-to-people connectivity in Djibouti.

Nasrin, who was pregnant with twins, accompanied her father to undergo cataract surgery on her due day. The operation was completed with great success that the father was able to witness the birth of his twin grandsons. To express their gratitude to GX Foundation and the medical team, the two grandchildren were named after Charmarke and Abdillahi (Awale).

During their stay in Hong Kong, the Djiboutian colleagues received on-the-job training and took part in team-building events. They also had a great time sharing some Hong Kong street food with the HK team. In the coming week, they will travel to Laos and Cambodia for project inspection and connect with other local colleagues.
